Dong Da district is one of the four original district of Hanoi city. Located in the southwest of central Hanoi. Dong Da is big and borders five other districts: Ba Dinh district, Cau giay district, Thanh Xuan district, Hai Ba Trung district, Hoan Kiem district.
This area has more of an urban atmosphere than Hoan Kiem, with plenty of international restaurants and shops. Hotels in Dong Da District are mostly mid- to upper- range, and they cater to affluent Vietnamese and business travelers who are more interested in facilities than historic atmosphere.
There are a few historic sites such as The Temple of Literature, a 11th-century Confucius temple is here; Quoc Tu Giam, a celebrated center of Confucian learning founded in 1076. Dong Da district where there are many offices are located and also International schools such as Vincom Nguyen Chi Thanh, Lotte building, Winston International school, Medical College of Hanoi,….
From there you easily access to all the bars and restaurants of the Old Quarter and French Quarter, as well as some nice walking spaces immediately to the north around Ba Dinh square. This district has many parks and lakes where people can walking, running or relaxing.
